During the international ‘Interfaith Dialog Between Civilisations’ conference held at the United Nations in New York from the 12th–13th November 2008, the Foundation for Science, Technology and Civilisation (FSTC), a UK based non-profit educational Institution, produced a Display entitled: “Multi-Faith Scientists in Islamic Civilization”. The Display was sponsored by Al-Aghar Group, Abdul Latif Jameel Group, Layan Cultural Foundation and Dar Al-Hekma College. Due to its popularity, the display was kept for a further 10 days at the delegates’ entrance of the UN General Assembly.

Large number of the guests attending the Dialog Conference, many of whom were heads of states, prime ministers, ministers and ambassadors, came to visit the Display which was located at the main entrance used by delegates. During the two days of the conference, the display was visited by among many others, His Majesty King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia and Patron of the Dialog Conference, Madame Tarja Halonen, the President of the Republic of Finland, Dr Tantawi, The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Dr Gomaa, the Mufti of Egypt, H E Miguel d’Escoto Brockmann, the President of the UN General Assembly, Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, the Secretary-General of The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), HE Recap Tayyip Erdogan, the Prime Minister of Turkey, HE Abbas El-Fasi, the Prime Minister of Morocco, HE Dr Condoleezza Rice, US Secretary of State.. Prof. Salim T S Al-Hassani, Chairman of the FSTC explained the content and theme of the exhibition to the visiting dignitaries and signed copies of the book “Muslim Heritage in our World” for them. Prof. Salim T S Al-Hassani also gave a lecture at the UN Security Council Room, in conjunction with Dr Suhair Qurashi, the Dean of Dar Al-Hekma College, Jeddah, under the same title as the Display.
